about Carolina Behavioral Care

Carolina Behavioral Care is a multispecialty clinic providing a full range of psychiatric and mental health services. As a physician directed clinic, we have provided services since 1982. In addition, since 2005, we have had a constituent relationship with Saguaro Group, LLC to facilitate the delivery of both public and private mental health services to underserved areas in North Carolina.

OUR MISSION
Carolina Behavioral Care is a multispecialty psychiatric practice which provides behavioral health and substance abuse assessment and treatment services to children, adolescents, adults and families.

Additionally, Carolina Behavioral Care provides complementary behavioral health services with its rehabilitative mental health services partner, Saguaro Group, LLC through community mental health public/private partnerships in North Carolina.

OUR HISTORY
CBC has provided comprehensive psychiatric services in North Carolina since 1982. Its founder, Robert A. Fleury, M.D., developed its first multidisciplinary psychiatric clinic in Pinehurst, providing a range of out-patient services including chemical dependency treatment. Subsequently, hospital based inpatient services were developed in collaboration with First Health of the Carolinas in Pinehurst.

In 1987, the clinic grew in staffing and developed an out-patient site in Rockingham. In 1990, CBC became medically responsible for psychiatric services at Sandhills Regional Medical Center in Hamlet, and initiated a contract with Sandhills Mental Health to provide indigent services. Since 1990, the clinic has grown in scope with clinical services such as child and adolescent psychiatry, psychotherapy services for all ages, and both psychological and neuropsychological testing.

In 2005 CBC developed a partnership relationship with Saguaro Group, LLC, a provider of enhanced mental health services for Medicaid and uninsured patients throughout North Carolina. Through that relationship CBC has expanded to eight outpatient clinic sites in order to expand psychiatric and psychological services in mostly underserved areas. Additionally in collaboration with Saguaro Group, we have developed new services through the public/private partnerships with mental health systems.

CBC has assumed the responsibility for clinic based services in regions where the mental health system has divested of services. In remote areas of the State, the clinic has pursued unique initiatives such as telepsychiatric services, and envisions related services in rural areas such as co-location projects with primary care providers. As of 2010, CBC has grown to a staff of approximately 70 clinicians with over 11,000 patient visits a month.
